Magic in the Mist

Intrepid travellers
on the sea of time,
perpetually out of sight of land,
we congratulate ourselves
on our seamanship
but soon cease scanning the horizon.
Holding our gaze shipboard
we thus fail to observe the magic
glistening in the mist
where mysterious peaks
break the surface
of our shared illusion.
